How to choose your stream after 10th

This thought has reminded me of a poem by famous poet Robert Frost - THE ROAD NOT TAKEN.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Now back to the dilemma of selecting our streams after the 10th boards. Many of my friends were asking me about this. Hence, I thought of writing a blog on this topic. I hope this will be helpful to you.

STREAM SELECTION -

1. The first thing that matters is your INTEREST. Look for the things that excite you the most and you can do them continuously without even taking a break.
For example - It may be dancing for some, or singing or drawing for others.
Remember, each flower in the garden is different; so are we all. Never follow the same path as your friend's if you are not interested!
The following questions can help you identify your interest if you are unaware of it
Ques No. 1 - If I asked you to go to the stage unprepared and unexpectedly, and asked you to speak about a topic for 30 minutes. What will you speak about?
Ques No. 2 - What is that thing on which your friends or family ask you for your advice or suggestions?
The answers to these questions may help you to define your niche.

2. Secondly, be FUTURE-PROOF. We all know that Artificial Intelligence is taking over this world. Some jobs that now exist may not even exist in the next decade! Therefore, you must be careful while selecting your major. Choosing your stream is directly proportional to your job. Look for those jobs that will be in demand in the future and cannot be easily replaced by robots. Then according to that job, finalize your stream and subjects that you will need to perform that job. And eventually, they'll be helpful in your further education as you must have a basic knowledge about your major in college.

3. Thirdly, you should RESEARCH  all the streams like what will you study in each and what jobs you can take after studying these. For example, You cannot become an engineer after taking arts (tho this can happen but it's very rare)

4. It's fine if you're unable to find your potential. You can EXPERIMENT in your 11th grade and then change your stream in 12th. Or even after you get a job, there is always a way of changing it. If you are not satisfied with your 9 to 5 job, then you can study entrepreneurship this time and be an entrepreneur! Our interests always change with time. However, you should always keep in mind your abilities and interests.

5. Lastly, if you are unable to decide what stream you should choose, then find a COUNSELOR that has considerable experience and offers you customized help. It is extremely vital that the advisor understands your background and interests, and gives tailor-made advice. A qualified counselor would be able to identify your strengths and interests and will find a stream that suits you the best!

ALL THE BEST!
THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER 😄
